Season’s Greetings from the KNA

We want to share our best wishes with all our Kenton Neighbors for a Happy New Year!!

The KNA is completing a great year of building new and stronger community relationships and we value all the time being given to making Kenton a thriving neighborhood.  There will be lots of activities for community fellowship in the New Year.  We begin with our January KNA Board Meeting being held at Peninsula School to provide better awareness of the academic needs in our community.  The KNA will hold a General Meeting, February 10th for community education on the “noises” in our neighborhood, March and April will see planning for Sunday Parkways and the neighborhood wide clean-up, May 20th will be the Denver Street Celebration, June has Sunday Parkways heading back into Kenton, and the summer months will bring concerts and movies in Kenton Park if grants and funding comes through.  Stay tuned to the website calendar and updates as we start 2010.

Winter Coats Brings Lots of Happy Smiles!

After days of this cold air, the delivery donation of new warm and cozy winter coats to the students at Peninsula School was welcomed by the students and school Principle Carlos Galindo.  The program was organized by Pastor Edgar Roderguiz of Life Fellowship Church, our Kenton neighbor and assisted by our local Crime Prevention Coordinator Mark Wells and myself as the representative  face of the KNA.   It is a good example of  looking beyond ourselves to the realization that many in our community don’t have the basics of warmth and comfort.  Let’s make sure we all open our hearts during this holiday season and share where we can.
