Neighborhood Response and Information

Tracking Neighborhood Needs and Yields

The KNA knows that many neighbors and business owners are looking to support each other during the COVID-19 outbreak. As a result, we are hoping to gather a list of needs and yields in the neighborhood to connect those with goods and/or services to share with those in need. If you would like to help the KNA facilitate this program, please contact us.

The Kenton Women’s Village has a list of needs and requests.

Activities and Events

The KNA has suspended all in-person events until at least June. The monthly meetings of the KNA Board will be held online, and as usual, all are welcome and encouraged to attend. The Kenton Connect Newsletter, which is hand delivered to all residences in Kenton three times a year, has been postponed until further notice, but there was a bilingual mailer sent with COVID-19 resources.

The Kenton Placemaking Grant through the North Portland Trust Fund was delayed but will now launch in June.

As for other major neighborhood events, the Kenton Street Fair has been cancelled for 2020.

Updates from Kenton Businesses

First, we hope you all are staying healthy & safe. These are unprecedented times for our entire community. The Kenton Business District has seen the immediate and serious impact of this shutdown. We are doing everything we can to help our community and our fellow small business owners during this time. We will be updating our Facebook page & our Instagram page daily with ways you can support our essential businesses and those that will remain shuttered until the all-clear is given. Please follow us, let us know how you are doing, and support your favorite businesses any way you can.

You can find us on Facebook and Instagram

Kenton Farmers Market

Here’s the latest from Portland Farmers Market:

The Kenton Farmers Market is about to open its (out)doors for our 9th season. We are doing everything we can to make our market a healthy shopping experience while providing access to fresh food for Kenton residents. The market will be open Wednesdays, June-September, from 3pm-7pm with many changes in layout, programs and rules.

This season, the market will be on N McClellan St spanning both sides of N Denver St to allow for physical distance between shoppers. At this time, all entrances will be open, reusable shopping bags are encouraged and cash will be accepted by all vendors. Please send one person per household if possible and have a list for efficient shopping. We will continue adapting our market guidelines throughout the season. Read our health and safety plan and sign up for our Kenton specific newsletter on our website at: https://www.portlandfarmersmarket.org/our-markets/kenton/

The Kenton Farmers Market will continue accepting SNAP benefits and match up to $10 through the Double Up Food Bucks program.

We look forward to bringing the farmers market back to your neighborhood and hope to see you each Wednesday shopping for fresh, local foods. We appreciate any effort to help us spread the word!
