Looking to get involved with the KNA but want a short-term commitment? Consider joining the North Portland Trust Fund Kenton Placemaking Grant Selection Committee! This committee provides neighborhood and community organizations with the opportunity to improve the quality of life for residents of Kenton through determining the allocation of $12,000 in grants funds over roughly a 45-day review period.
As a grant selection committee member, you’ll be able to provide neighborhood and community organizations with the opportunity to improve the quality of life for residents of Kenton. This is a wonderful opportunity to gain knowledge and experience related to the grant writing and the review process, learn what makes a fundable grant and support grassroots projects in your neighborhood.
The KNA hopes to create a diverse committee whose members come with a wide range of experiences and backgrounds. Please note that individuals that are directly affiliated with a current grant application are not eligible to serve on the selection committee.
Requirements to be on the Grant Selection Committee:
- Live or work in Kenton
- Commit to serve approximately duration of July 17th – September 1st and attend two to three meetings
- Review/rank applications and provide additional feedback to the KNA Board and Grant Manager for distributing funds
- Ability to work independently and work collaboratively with a diverse committee
Applications for the selection committee can be found via Google Docs, Word and PDF and are due by June 19th.
