Help the Peninsula Elementary PTA

From the Peninsula PTA:

We want to hear your thoughts!

After collecting ideas from Peninsula Elementary staff, students, and families, the ECHO team created two concepts for the green schoolyard. These site plans show how elements could be placed within the outdoor play and learning environment. Your feedback will help us as we continue to develop the site plan. First, take a broad look at the overall layout of each plan.

  • Looking at each plan, think about how some of the major elements might relate to each other. Does it make sense for certain elements to be located closer to or farther away from each other?
  • What do you like about Concept 1? What do you like about Concept 2? Do you like one better than the other? Is there anything you dislike about either of the concepts? Would you combine anything from the two concepts into one plan?
  • Are there any important play and learning elements that are missing from these concepts?

The PTA’s mission is to make every child’s potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children.

For the Peninsula Elementary Community in North Portland we plan fun things! We raise money, we work with administration, faculty, and guardians to identify the needs of the school and fill the gaps where we can.

Some of our typical yearly events and activities we support are:

  • Back-to-school Slushy Social
  • Peninsula Clothing Closet
  • Fall Local Fruit Fundraiser
  • Fall Harvest Festival
  • Family Movie Night
  • School Dance
  • Dine Out Nights
  • Trivia Night
  • Teacher Appreciation Week
  • Green Team + Gardening Work
  • Panther Resilience Fund
  • Maintain a presence at our neighbor Kenton Street Fair, and so much more!

Your PTA is a small volunteer board of parents/guardians, supported by an active membership of community members, grandparents, parents/guardians, staff and teachers.
