KNA Neighborhood Vote And Board Elections Tonight! [UPDATED]

Update: The neighborhood vote on the continuation of the Kenton Women’s Village was 119 in favor to 3 against.

The Kenton Neighborhood Association (KNA) welcomes all neighbors to attend the next General Meeting today, June 13th, from 6-8pm at DISJECTA (8371 N Interstate Ave) with neighborhood voting on the Kenton Women’s Village (KWV) and KNA Board positions. The event will also feature an open house from 6-7pm followed by presentations/Q&A from 7-8pm.

Various organizing partners for the KWV, Transition Projects Inc (TPI) and possible city bureaus will be present for the open house and presentations/Q&A will featureĀ representatives of the KWV.

Project organizers for the KWV have vowed to only continue on with Kenton neighborhood support, and the city-owned land used for the KWV remains under contract to be sold to TPI to build low-income housing. That project has been delayed, though, and isnā€™t expected to break ground until early next year, offering additional time for the KWV to use the site. As a result, the KNA Board intends for neighbors to consider approving up to another year of the KWV in case TPI experiences additional delays.

A person must be physically present at some point during the meeting (6-8pm) to obtain a ballot and then cast their vote. In order to get a ballot, a person must meet eligibility requirements under the bylaws (18 and over and lives, leases, rents and/or owns any real property within Kenton) and sign in with their name and address.
